The Zen Bride Workshop

After a few years of working with brides individually about discussing the emotions and stress that come up during the engagement process, I was finally able to gather a small group of brides to share their stories and anxieties. It was very inspiring and empowering, but our 3 hours together was only the tip of the iceberg!

While I educated the brides on the theories around Rite of Passage and transition from girlhood to womanhood, and breathed together through some yoga and meditation, there were a number of other topics that emerged.

- Shame around both focusing on themselves and asking for gifts
- Fear that the marriages would not last
- Guilt for experiencing joy while others around them suffer
- Losing their identity and feeling smothered by their spouse

Those are huge, right? And we just didn’t have time to cover them. So be on the look-out for posts that address these concerns, plus some others that were shared in November. And if you or a bride you know would benefit from working through challenges and celebrating the successes of this transition, please let me know!
