I met Bree working on a wedding few years ago and I really appreciated her gentle care of the couple and collaborative approach. I also love that she shares my view that a wedding is important, but it’s only one day. What really matters is that a couple is prepping for marriage along with their Big Day! While Blossom has grown over the last few years, I really want to give a shout out to their amazing leader. Without further ado, I’m excited to shine a light on BREE SWARTZ!

What was the path that led you to become a planner?

It actually chose me! I was working in admin and sales for a venue in Midtown. I had a bride ask me if I would coordinate for her and the rest, as they say, is history! Event planning felt like a new challenge and complimented my artistic love for design, so it was a natural fit. I also think we have a unique standpoint from most planners because we worked in a raw space from an admin and logistical standpoint. It takes real skill and a ton of creativity to make a vision become a reality, including the not-so-glamorous elements of logistics, budget, and layout. As we've grown, our knowledge and aesthetic is not only steeped in experience, but really custom tailored to each wedding and event so we can have a fresh and creative perspective.

What excites you about weddings?

No wedding is ever the same! I love the constantly-changing landscape (especially this year) and how we have to get creative to meet certain challenges. Knocking it out of the park, whether it's making a dream wedding work on a budget, bringing to life a specific, eclectic vision or simply navigating day-of details. It's always such an exciting moment in the world of weddings when we've conquered a challenge!

What do you look for in a couple?

I love working with couples that know this is one of the most important days of their life, but it's not the only day of their life. A couple who really asks the question "why are we having a wedding?" is a clear sign to me that they are planning for a marriage, not just a wedding. A true celebration of love. And of course, I vibe especially well with a couple that doesn't take themselves too seriously, and has a great sense of humor! Because you have to be able to roll with the punches on this journey!

What is the greatest compliment you’ve ever received?

I received a baby shower invite from one of my first clients. To know I created such an intimate and personal relationship with a client that they wanted to include me in the celebration of the birth of their child, was SUCH an honor!

What do you desire for your business?

To constantly keep growing, to be a trendsetter and to collaborate with high-vibe, healthy mind-body-soul conscious creatives. I would also love to partner with societal and environmental focused businesses, as well. Having been in the business for sometime now, I aspire to help others up the ladder! It brings me a lot of joy to share my expertise and offer opportunities to young, innovative leaders who love this business, while hopefully making their journey a smoother ride.

What are you grateful for?

MY TEAM! They are truly the best. My husband for listening to all of the wedding stories and dilemmas - and I mean ALL OF THE THEM. And the Divine, for the abundant life I am co-creating and living!

Any recent cause for celebration?

We have expanded our team - with Operating Manager and Coordinator, Imani Starr and Senior Lead Coordinator, Alexandra O'Halloran! We are booking more than ever as restrictions lift and the world opens back up for weddings. We can't wait to celebrate with all of our couples and their guests!
