Wedding Affirmations to Keep You Calm

I’ve been listening to and reciting affirmations for the last few months. But recently I started recommending that my couples join in the practice with some Wedding Affirmations. I’ve found using affirmations as a very powerful tool to start my day. So, I figured it could also come in handy to keep wedding couples calm as they plan their big day.

As we all know, words and thoughts have power. When you repeat positive phrases often, they can, in various ways, affect and make changes in your environment. In the sequence of thought-speech-action, affirmations play an integral role by breaking patterns of negative thoughts, negative speech, and, in turn, negative actions.

In short, positive affirmations do work and you can check out a study published in Social Cognitive and Affective Neuroscience if you need more proof. Reciting or writing positive phrases help activate parts of the brain that are associated with self-related processing and reward. The same studies also indicate that positive affirmations can help build or restore self-competence.

I hear over and over again from brides and grooms that wedding planning can be stressful or overwhelming. Many also say that over time they dread looking at the details and logistics. Using affirmations is certainly one way to counterbalance that negativity and remind yourselves what the heck you are doing it all for.

Here are 14 wedding affirmations to use leading up to your big day!

  1. I choose to stay calm under pressure.

  2. I will enjoy my wedding day, regardless of the weather.

  3. I only attract good vibrations on my special day.

  4. Marriage is my goal and I am ready for it now.

  5. I am thankful for the love in my life.

  6. I can handle any wedding challenges and I can triumph over them.

  7. I will stay positive during the wedding planning process.

  8. I will take my partner’s opinion into consideration.

  9. I will understand that the world does not revolve around my wedding.

  10. I believe that marriage is the union of two souls and I am ready for the union now

  11. We choose to have a fun and positive wedding planning experience.

  12. We are worthy of having a magical, stress free wedding day.

  13. We are grateful for everyone’s support, guidance, and generosity.

  14. I release any worry about what could go wrong on our wedding day.

And if you need some tips on HOW to use them, here you go!

  • Write them out

  • Speak them aloud daily with your partner

  • Sing them in the shower

  • Meditate and breathe with the words

  • Jot them on sticky notes and place them around your home

Do any of these affirmations resonate with you? Are there a few that are missing from the list? If I can help you and your partner find calm and motivation before your wedding - and as you prep for your marriage, please let me know. The comment section is always open, or you can email me.
