What is the ZEN BRIDE WORKSHOP?

Early in my pre-marital practice, one my brides shared some issues and emotions out of scope of the regular curriculum. She spoke about her waves of emotions and conflicted thoughts around her change of identity as she approached marriage. I tried to address her concerns with her fiancé present, however, it was not about him. He was nervous and asked what he could do to support her. I quickly realized that I needed to work with her individually.

I listened to her concerns and fears, her frustrations and excitement. I did a bit of research and created a new curriculum. A way to discuss the transition she was going through, and validate her feelings. After working with that one bride one-to-one, I had a format to share with more brides. Welcome to THE ZEN BRIDE.

  • Did you experience feelings of shock, panic or nervousness during or immediately after the proposal?

  • Are you afraid of giving something up or losing something when you get married?

  • Do you feel that the engagement period is not as blissful as it “should” be?

  • Are you anxious about committing to one person for the rest of your life?

If you answered “yes” to any of these questions, The Zen Bride is for you!

As couples prepare for marriage, their community is usually just as excited as they are. However the conversation is largely around the wedding day, and planning for it. Family and friends check on the logistics of the day, ask about the proposal and rings, dresses and suits and the after party. There is very little discussion about the transition into being spouses and the myriad of emotions that go along with the change in roles. While I’ve seen both men and women share their concerns, I find that women in hetero relationships experience the greatest challenges. Therefore I decided to gear the workshop towards women. But gents, please know that I’m here for you, if you want to discuss one-to-one!

What is The Zen Bride Workshop?

The Zen Bride is a workshop that gives brides-to-be an opportunity to recognize & process the amazing rite of passage from engagement day to wedding day. And better yet, it’s a chance to celebrate your journey with other brides going through the exact same things at the exact same time!

The workshop is usually in-person here in New York. However due to COVID-19, I’ve been offering it virtual to women around the country. Through the power of Zoom, I create a safe space to bond and vent with a community of women. You will be able to process your challenges, successes, your anxiety and joy. We will release any stress with a little meditation and yoga, and share our stories. And lastly, we will create and perform a meaningful ritual leaving you relaxed and refreshed and ready to complete the journey towards wedded bliss.

What Can You Expect from Me?

During our time together, my complete attention and focus will be on you. The Zen Bride is designed to help you speak truthfully about your experience. Since my work is based in action, it’s important to develop a list of ways to deal with issues that have come up along the way. I will provide a forum for you to safely share and validate. I will ask powerful and probing questions, and offer an environment for the sharing of different perspectives. I will help you pave the way to achieving what you want during the engagement period. Everything that we discuss will be confidential. I will always be in your corner, with your best interests and your agenda at heart.

What Will I Expect from You?

Make your our time together a priority. We are a team, accomplishing more together than any of us could do alone. For this to happen, you need to be prepared and present. Take time to be centered and breathe. Be ready to talk and available to listen. Our time together is really just the beginning. The real work begins AFTER the workshop. Use what you learn. Complete what you agree to do.

This sounds awesome! When is the Next Workshop?

Sundays, January 24 & 31, 2021
2–5PM EST

Over 2 consecutive Sundays, you’ll share your stories with other women, and validate the vast range of emotions you’re experiencing. There may be some negativity around your wedding preparation (um, planning during a Pandemic!) so, it’s important to celebrate wherever you are on the journey. Let’s get excited for the road ahead… uncertainty and all!

This workshop is 100% virtual, so you can join us from anywhere in the world! And for the first time, I am offering it as a donation/pay what you will.

If you have additional questions, want to work together one-to-one or want to sign-up for the January workshop, please let me know.
