Gratituesday 9.4.18 - Urgency
September is the month of urgency. I find it funny that at this time every year people say, "gosh, where has the time gone?" or "how is it september already??" It's like we weren't paying attention or being present in the every day. This time of year is also very much about new beginnings. As we seen a gazillion of first of day of school photos on social media, there is an excitement about starting fresh. As the Jewish New Year - Rosh Hashanah approaches, I take stock, as well. I'm glad I have created a practice of reflecting on a weekly basis, but I love the urgency of September. We are now 3/4 through the year, and the lazy days of summer are over. It's time to take stock on the goals set at the top of the year and check in on their progress.
Is there anything you've been meaning to do? Why not start doing it now? With this in mind, my DESIRES were easy to write this week. But I find it's always best to start with what you appreciate. Wanna join me? Let's go!
GRATITUDES
1. Coffee and cocktails
2. My yoga practice
3. Kitty snuggles - and Maxie waking me up less
4. Living in an amazing city
5. Being able to open the window the last few days - but it's closed NOW.
CELEBRATIONS
1. 13 Straight days of Spanish lessons on Duolingo, baby!
2. Booking 2 new weddings this week. One for this year, one for next!
3. No more mouse or flies! Here's to the rest of the little bugs being gone.
4. A clean kitchen sink - woot, woot!
5. The ability to say no
DESIRES
1. To either move forward with my housing deal or be released by the seller. This is getting ridiculous.
2. A full pre-marital counseling group workshop in October
3. To implement the weekly meal prep that I have planned in my head
4. To find energy to WRITE at least 3 times each week
5. A mani-pedi
A few of the desires are stand alone. Just get'er done. However others require a few steps to actually satisfy the goal. I plan to break those down and take steps towards fulfilling them this week. Need assistance or a cheerleader? Just say the word! Here's to staying cool and to finding the urgency you need!
