Gratituesday 4.2.24 - Rainy Day Palindrome
So as I walked home in the rain today, I was listening to an episode of Radiolab where they announced that today is the first of quite a few palindrome days this month. If you don’t know a palindrome is something that is the same forwards as backwards. If you want to go a little nerdier - Palindrome comes from Greek palindromos, meaning "running back again," which itself is from palin ("back," "again") and dramein ("to run").
Anyway, back to the episode of Radiolab. It was a replay of an audio recording from Short Cuts on the BBC. It was a piece that plays the same forward and backward. It was about place and home and belonging. It was nice to listen as I walked in my neighbor and recently celebrated my 12th year back in my home state of New York. It reminded me of where I came from and finding my way back again.
As usual, a little reflection tends to expand to my weekly lists. Care to join me? Awesome! I’m happy to get things started. Let’s go!
