Gratituesday 4.8.25 - Tales of a Foster Cat

I said farewell to my 21 year old cat, Maximillian in August. I knew I was not ready for another pet right away. However, once I got some travel out of the way, I decided it would be time to foster. So I took a foster orientation with Animal Care Center. You don’t get to interact with the cats ahead of time to see if it’s a good fit. There is a directory with some photos and descriptions and you can hope for the best.

For the past 2 months, I’ve opened my home to a lovely short haired boy named Bendito. He was immediately comfortable and curious. He loves a good head scratch and sits in the lap of all of my house guests. The shelter hopes for “foster fails” - instances where you decide to adopt your foster pet. However I don’t have the same connection I had with Lincoln or Maxie, so I need to help find him a fur-ever home.

There of course has been a ton of reflection here and then it extends to my weekly lists. Care to join me with your own gratitudes, celebrations and desires? Awesome! The comment section is always open. I’m happy to go first…
