Vendors I Love: MEGAN & KENNETH

I met Megan & Kenneth working a super fun wedding a few years ago. I’ve got to work with them again a few more times and each time I appreciate their amazing sensibility to just be there to capture the right image at the right time. It’s also lovely to see Kenneth and Megan work together. There are no major discussions, they just divide and conquer - working seamlessly together. I guess it’s helpful that they not only love marriage, but ARE MARRIED. Without further ado, beyond excited to shine some light on MEGAN & KENNETH!

What was the path that led you to become photographers?

We each got photography degrees separately and have worked in various areas of the industry. While I (Megan) started capturing weddings on and off in my teen years, Kenneth and I became serious about wedding photography together after we got married. We decided to go full-time in February 2020... which led to a very interesting era of weddings ahead!

What excites you about weddings?

There is so much to be excited about when it comes to weddings. We love to see how different couples personalize their celebrations to their love story and personalities. It's been amazing to watch couples become more and more comfortable with breaking traditions. Leaving behind cookie cutter structures, in favor of a more relaxed event. We're all about couples making the day all about them and their community.

What do you look for in a couple?

We love to come across couples in love who are excited about spending their lives together. That may seem obvious, but beyond the joys of having a wedding, there's an extra special spark in those who are looking forward to the joys of having a marriage.

What is the greatest compliment you’ve ever received?

It warms our hearts when couples tell us how comfortable we've made them feel. I think one of the more memorable moments was when one couple went from (literally) dry-heaving at the start of their engagement shoot to cool cucumbers on the wedding day. The best compliments, we feel, lie in the contrast between photos from the first time we meet a couple to their joy end of their wedding night.

What do you desire for your business?

We honestly just want to have a good time with our couples and show them that it's not as scary as they think to be in front of a camera. We've started expanding to have associate photographers (our Mutual Friends) capture weddings for couples looking for comfortable, natural experiences because we want to help as many couples as possible through the process.

What are you grateful for?

We are so grateful for the window couples allow us to have into their relationship. The trust our couples put into our work allows us to continue doing what we love for a living and create some truly awesome images in the process.

Any recent cause for celebration?

Next year we'll be married five years, and we're going to go on a lovely trip somewhere!
