Whether it’s an issue of budget, a desire for intimacy, or simply not wanting to fuss over all the grand details, not every couple wants a huge wedding celebration. Welcome to the Micro-wedding! Of course, here in New York, gatherings are currently limited to 50 people, so couples are forced to go small. But once the world reopens after COVID-19, micro (or mini) weddings will continue to be popular. The micro wedding offers a middle ground that allows couples to have their tiny cake, and to eat it, too! Below are some lovely options for venues offering smaller weddings in the Hudson Valley. Or check out my previous posts for venues in Brooklyn and Manhattan. And of course, if I can help you create an intimate wedding ceremony to match, please let me know!

There are 3 different location options on the farm depending on your guest count and preference - the Dooryard Garden, the Terrace and the Courtyard. Saint Hubert’s Lodge

StHubert-micro-wedding-hope-mirlis.jpg

Set on 165-acres in Marlboro (Ulster County), St. Hubert’s Lodge, offers the look and feel of a 1900’s Adirondack Great Camp without sacrificing any of the luxuries you would find in a modern-day 5-star hotel. To ensure that the property remains pristine and secluded, they host a limited number of weddings per year. This way, you can be sure that your event is exclusive and truly one-of-a-kind. There are 6 suites on premises that can accommodate up to 18 people. Perfect for a micro wedding!

Weather permitting you can choose a beautiful lakeside ceremony — seated along Lake Pinto — or head inside using one of their beautiful fireplaces as a backdrop. After the ceremony, the lakefront reception area is perfect to enjoy cocktails and hors-d’oeuvres, while taking in the amazing views. Then enjoy a delicious feast in the dining room that provides ample room to social distance.

Check out their website for more information. And reach out to Kathy - kathy@sainthubertslodge.com - to inquire about fall and winter dates, and see their list of “Saint Hubert’s Approved” caterers.
