Gratituesday 12.13.22 - I Am Not Invincible

There’s that phrase that says that God will not give you more than you can handle. I think on it when I have lots on my plate or I am going through a series of challenges. Maybe I’m not invincible, but it usually motivates me to keep on going. However, curiosity got the better of me, and I did a little bit of research on the phrase. It does come from the Bible, but unfortunately it’s slightly misquoted.

In 1 Corinthians 10:13 it does say…

“No temptation has overtaken you except what is common to mankind. And God is faithful; He will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear. But when you are tempted, He will also provide a way out so that you can endure it.”

Wow, that’s quite different. It’s about temptation and not about strength or motivation. I guess I will have to find that elsewhere.

But I do have to say that I have gotten cocky around COVID-19. I really did feel invincible as we are now over 2 years into the Pandemic and I have not gotten sick. Well, until this week. All of my thoughts about my powerful DNA were in vain as I watched those 2 lines become more vivid on the plastic test. Yesterday was a pity party yesterday, where I had to cancel all of my appointments and plans. Today, I am sadly resigned to quarantine for another 4 days - but I’m up and productive and making the best of it. I guess you can say that I’m handling it. I’m not going to lie, it’s been hard to find the positivity. But after some reflection, I got there. Care to join me as I share my gratitudes, celebrations and desires? Awesome. Let’s go!
