Gratituesday 2.16.21 - Call to Action

So, there’s a feral cat that’s been hanging in the courtyard behind my apartment building for the last few days SCREAMING! All hours of the day and night. I’m not clear if it’s claiming its territory or calling for help. It’s a clear call to action. I just have no idea what the action should be.

Yesterday I opened my window and let the cold air stream in. I looked straight at the cat and asked what it needed. Yes, out loud, like a crazy person. The cat looked back at me, quieted down and walked away. I should also mention that my almost 18 year old cat has started screaming lately, too. And similarly I don’t know why. So, I check his food, and water bowl. I make sure the litter box is clean or that I just give him attention and a good brushing. It could be any of those things, so I usually just do them one by one until he stops screaming.

But it did get me thinking about calls to action in general. I hear it a lot in terms of marketing and website design, as well as with my couples as we discuss their needs. It begs the questions, who are you talking to and what do you want? But more importantly, WHAT DO YOU WANT THE OTHER PERSON TO DO? What is the call to action?

That may be harder to answer. So reflection may be necessary. While you’re in a thoughtful mode, care to join me in my Weekly Lists? Awesomesauce. I’ll go first. The comment section is always open for thoughts and question, or add your own lists. Off we go!
