Gratituesday 7.28.20 - How We Recover
I’ve been tired lately. It could be the summer heat, it could be my irregular sleeping habit or it could be something else. While I could complain about the shut down of the event industry, I am thankful for little work I do have, and the flexibility to take the time I need. I am able to nap in the middle of the day if I need to rest and recover. Or don a mask and take a walk outside if I’ve been cooped up in my apartment for too long. Of course, I also hope for a safe return to normalcy or perhaps something better. The social unrest and dissatisfaction of policy and leadership could potentially take some positive shifts as we figure out how we recover.
Jason Robert Brown’s song, ‘All Things in Time’ constantly echos in my head lately. If I ever do another cabaret, I’m sure I will sing it. It begins…
All things in time.
If not today, if not tomorrow,
Then all things in time –
We can’t predict
What comes to pass.
All we control is how we react
And how we recover.
Something like faith,
Deep in our skin:
Everything in its time.
So in the meantime, I am patient and present. That’s prime for reflection. Care to join me? Here’s to recovery and if you need anything in the meantime, please reach out.
Here are my weekly Gratitudes, Victories and Desire. Feel free to respond to mine or add your own.
