Vendors I Love: JOSIE MICHELLE EVENTS

I met Michelle Peralta at an industry event in 2019. She spoke about an upcoming wedding that she thought I would be a good fit. And then COVID hit. After a number of postponements, I finally got to work on a wedding with Michelle and her partner, Josenny Tineo this past year. But during the craziness of 2020, I not only kept up with them, but joined with them on one of the many virtual community events they hosted. I love that they are not only super calm and organized, but they are all about supporting others and are total team players. Without further ado, I am so excited to shine some very well deserved attention onto JOSIE MICHELLE EVENTS.
What was the path that led you to become a planners?
We were always planning events for family and friends. Eventually, someone told us that since we loved it so much, we should turn it into a business! We started experimenting with birthdays, baby showers and bridal showers in 2009. By 2011, our clients started requesting weddings and we felt ready to take on this new adventure and formally launched Josie Michelle Events. We couldn’t be happier to be part of so many beautiful love stories.

What excites you about weddings?
We love hearing people’s stories and why they’re together. We love to see families joining together. And of course, we love to bring a couple’s vision for the big day to life, incorporating personalized and meaningful details for them. One of our favorite moments was at the wedding of a bride whose family we knew very well. We had planned her older sister's wedding a couple of years earlier and her baby shower one year before. During the first dance her sister's husband sang their song and the baby was happily enjoying the moment. It felt like an amazing full-circle moment and the joy in the room was unforgettable. We were so grateful to be a part of it.
What do you look for in a couple?
We look for couples who aren’t afraid to show their personalities. This goes for all of the details of their wedding from design to entertainment. We especially appreciate couples that put their trust in us to plan and execute their wishes.

What is the greatest compliment you’ve ever received?
We’ve been told that we have a calming presence, and it makes us happy to know that we make people feel comfortable during stressful or emotional moments.
What do you desire for your business?
We hope to have the opportunity to work with families of different cultures and learn about different traditions. For example. we're planning our first Nigerian wedding and it's so exciting to learn about the traditional attire, menu and the ceremony.
What are you grateful for?
We’re grateful for each other, our dedicated team and clients that feel like family!

Any recent cause for celebration?
Oh yes! We’ve expanded our team this year and we’re working together to make 2022 the best year yet! Our client service specialist is busy creating new resources for our couples that will be helpful as they transition to their married life. Our social media team recently launched our Tik Tok account and we're creating fun videos that show our personalities and give our clients a sneak peek behind-the-scenes. Our design team is continuing to improve how we share design proposals to enhance the experience for our clients. We have lots going on!
