Gratituesday 1.4.22 - Isolation
It feels like everyone has covid right now. Okay, not everyone, but if I was a betting woman, I’d put money on the fact that everyone I know knows at least 1 person with covid right now. I personally know 3. That means that people are quarantining and/or in isolation. And isolation is so damaging as we as a society crave socialization.
No one would have expected this pandemic to last this long. Well, except if you are a historian and knew that pandemics in general (including the Spanish Flu of 1918) last 2-3 years. However with all of the medical advances we should have been better off. But we also have global travel and way too many people who are making the vaccination political or are not taking covid seriously.
And so we continue to stay 6 feet apart, we only congregate with our pods and when we meet people we’re masked, therefore we have no idea what the bottom of their face looks like! All of this to keep us safe, but also keep us isolated.
This time in isolation certainly brings reflection. And with reflection comes my weekly lists. Want to join me in sharing yours? Off we go.
