Vendors I Love: SARAH BODE-CLARK PHOTOGRAPHY

I met Sarah a few years ago at a Rising Tide event. As our paths overlapped many times since then, I finally got a chance to work with her last month. Once I took a deeper dive into her style and saw her portfolio, I was like “wow!” The way she captures moments and color is just stunning. Without further ado, I am excited to shine a little light on SARAH BODE-CLARK!

What was the path that led you to become a photographer?

I kicked off my photo journey through the 4-H program in a small Kansas town where I grew up. In high school I spent time at photo camp, and worked on the newspaper and yearbook. My darkroom buddy is still my best friend all these years later. My career went down a few different paths after college–from theater to the service industry to food media to food photography and eventually to wedding photography. I’ve been happily nuzzled in the wedding industry for close to 10 years.

What excites you about weddings?

I love that a wedding brings together people from all different areas of our lives into one room for a day. What a beautiful treat! I also love seeing all of the emotions that people go through on the day. It’s an honor that clients invite me to stand beside them through all of these intimate moments.

What do you look for in a couple?

I seek out clients who are excited about spending a day celebrating love with the people they love most. They may not have dreamed about their wedding their whole lives, but they do value how special it is that the important people around them are all sharing a space together for the day. They want the day to center around the time with their people instead of being about following every expected wedding trope when it doesn’t fit their vibe.

What is the greatest compliment you’ve ever received?

“Sarah is so organized, timely, and professional in everything that she does not to mention that she is just the nicest person in New York City.

What do you desire for your business?

I hope that I can always grow, learn, and make my business and the experience of working with me better year after year. I hope that I continue to find the little things that spark joy in each event, no matter how many weddings I attend.

What are you grateful for?

I’m grateful that I continue to get to celebrate important moments and journeys with so many incredible clients. As a bonus, the wedding vendor community in NYC is so full of awesome folks. How lucky to get to call them my coworkers!

Join me in saluting SARAH BODE-CLARK as she continues to grow and celebrate community! And check her out online:
