Gratituesday 8.13.19 - Weekly Lists, a History
It's hard to believe that I have been writing and posting my gratitude list for SEVEN years now. My weekly lists have quite a history!

Gratituesday 8.6.19 - Make it!
Last month was Plastic-free July. I have abstained from lots of things that I could not easily or cheaply find NOT wrapped in plastic. So if I wanted a it, I had to make it!

Gratituesday 7.30.19 - Make Me Stronger
I have seen such adversity lately, that I really don't know how I've managed to get through the day. But in all honestly, they really are just #firstworldproblems. I have food to eat and while my landlord is doing their darnedest to evict me, I still have a roof over my head. But solving these problems have certainly made me stronger!

Gratitudesday 7.16.19 - Daily Challenges
This week has been full of daily challenges. I'm not talking about my regular issues, and there HAVE been lots of that this week. I am talking about a number of tasks that I am attempting to do in a relatively large number of topics.

Gratituesday 7.2.19 - Wrapped in Plastic
Grocery shopping used to be so easy. Now decisions on what to buy are made largely around what's wrapped in plastic, and what's not. It used to be an easy drive to the market, grab anything off the shelves that looked good and was in budget, bag it up and then drive home. Easy. When I moved back to New York City 7 years ago, there were tons of changes in habit.

Recipe: PIMM'S CUP
Welcome to Summer! I don't know about you, but I'm getting tired of my usual gin & tonic. Need a new drink for summer? Let's take a jump across the pond for inspiration. How about a Pimm's Cup?

Strengthening Relationships: SIBLINGS
At the end of April, I had the opportunity to do something new: a sibling counseling workshop. The groom from a past counseling couple reached out and told me that he and his sisters were starting an annual sibling retreat weekend. Their mother suggested they not only spend quality time together, but also meet with a counselor to help them strengthen their relationships. How cool is that?

Desire Wednesday 6.26.19 - Clean Slate
In yoga, we fully exhale the breath in order to take a full breath in. It's all about creating a clean slate. With my apartment, I originally wanted to do only the bear minimum in terms of updating. However my friend Carlos and my mother encouraged me to do a full gut renovation. Clean slate. Nothing like taking the walls down to the studs and building everything back up again fresh, to get a new perspective.

Desire Wednesday 6.19.19 - Riding the Wave
In my grad school thesis, I talked about laughter being like running water. You can allow it to flow, just as you can add things to censor and stop it from pouring out. Or perhaps it's more like riding the wave.

Gratituesday 6.11.19 - Finding my Spirit Animal
Yesterday I went to an event for wedding industry professionals and not only was there food and drink, dancing and a photo booth, there were two guys offering Spirit Animal readings. I mean, these days I am looking for guidance anywhere I can find it.

Desire Wednesday 5.22.19 - Rewriting the Narrative
Lately, I have been repeating a version of the phrase, "I can't." Sometimes it's "I just can't" other times it's "I can't do it." In any case it's time to rewrite the narrative. Have you ever seen that video where someone talks negatively to their plant? If not, you should look it up.

Gratitude 5.14.19 - Letting Go
With all of the craziness in my life, I have been all about letting go. I had the opportunity to take not one, but TWO aerial yoga classes this week. In both classes, they stressed the idea that "in order to fly, you have to let go."

Gratituesday 5.7.19 - Challenges with Goodness
I have long been a supporter of the 3 Rs - reduce, reuse & recycle, however, there are challenges with goodness. My need/desire of #environmentalism mostly butts up against the ease of disposability, and the high cost of more zero waste options. See there are challenges with goodness? I WANT to do these things, but they take time and money!

Gratituesday 4.30.19 - Holding Space
As I sip on some leftover matzoh ball soup, I am able to not only warm the belly, but reflect on the last few days. My weekend was FULL of counseling. It was all about holding space. I guided Individual, group AND something new -- a Sibling Counseling session!

Gratituesday 4.23.19 - Brings Me Joy!
Spring is finally here. It's my favorite time of the year, so it brings me JOY to see the trees budding, the daffodils and tulips blooming and the sun shining! Today on my walk in SoHo, I noticed gorgeous cherry blossoms as I crossed Spring Street. And others did, too as I saw at least 3 people taking pictures with their phones.

Gratituesday 4.16.19 - I Can Handle It
There's a phrase that says that "God won't give you more than you can handle." So I guess I can handle it. There's even a verse in Corinthians that supports it. I've had a ton of adversity over the past year and I'm still looking for my way out.

Celebration Thursday 4.11.19 - Being Present
I have lots pending in my life right now. So am spending lots of time in the future, rather than being present. That means I have put off taking care of my hair and I finally had enough.

Gratituesday 4.2.19 - The Universe Provides
Not much to report. It's exciting to see Spring arrive here in NY. It's really my favorite time of the year. And I really hope the renewal brings the much needed changes in my life and in my business. I have been surrounded by people "making it happen," and those that exude pure positivity. It's a nice reminder that I what I need most, the universe provides.

Gratituesday 3.26.19 - Welcome Back!
I've taken 2 weeks off my Weekly Lists. So, I give myself a hearty Welcome Back. I am not sure if anyone really noticed, but I just didn't have it in me to post them. I did start them last week, but didn't have the positivity to continue.

Vendors I Love: SASCHA REINKING PHOTOGRAPHY
I met Sascha through his lovely wife and fellow officiant, Jackie Reinking. Together they make up #TeamReinking. In planning a gathering of NYC-based officiants, Jackie offered to host, and Sascha was there to lend a hand. I quickly found out that he not only makes a great hamburger, he also takes AMAZING photos. I love that he easily captures the love and excitement of his couples. He has a great eye for color and energy and that each and every photo is it's own love letter to NYC. Without further ado, I am so happy to share more about Sascha Reinking of SASCHA REINKING PHOTOGRAPHY!
