Gratituesday 11.24.20 - Thank you!
For years I’ve heard that women apologize much more than men do. However, I’ve also been dinged for saying ‘thank you’ too much. When I was a manager at a restaurant in Berkeley, CA one of my staff members from Ireland used to repeat “thanks” every time I said it. It was if to say, ‘gosh, you say thanks, a lot!’ Perhaps, I am just an appreciative person. Or perhaps I want people to know that I appreciate them.
This week all bets are off, as it’s THANKSGIVING! So while I do my weekly gratitude list, we’re expected to be thankful this week. Thanksgiving is one of my favorite holidays. I do love spending time with family, but due to my years in catering, I usually work the holiday. Not this year, during a pandemic! And since our local leaders and national health professions discourage travel this year, I am celebrating Thanksgiving alone. Well, alone on Zoom. So, after my noon yoga class on Google Meet, I will have an open forum with a “cooking cam” for anyone that wants to join and cook together. And then in the late afternoon, I will be on Zoom with my family.
Just in case my family does not want to share the things they’re grateful for, hopefully you’ll join me. I mean, we need as much positivity in our lives right now. Here are my weekly lists. The comment section is open below to add your own. Let’s go!
