Gratituesday 12.27.22 - Ending the Year Soft

I cannot believe the year is almost over. I did the Year Compass worksheet with my friend Nancy last weekend. We reviewed this past year and dreamed big for the year to come. However it was not until I grabbed the worksheet from LAST year, that I saw that there were a ton of things I wanted to do that I never did. First off, it made me sad. Then I realized that I need to have more regular check-ins or break down the goals more. That way I will actually get done the things that I want to do. So rather than having purely annual goals, I need to figure out what they look like monthly, weekly or even daily. Needless to say, there was a ton of reflection. This week the GRATITUDES were easiest to complete and the CELEBRATIONS were more difficult. I did see something on social media about rather than finishing the year HARD or with POWER that we should end the year SOFT. With relaxation and rest. With intention and ease. I’m not going to lie, that will be a challenge - especially since productivity is super important for me. However, I am aiming for soft. Lots of reflection and lots of ease. Let’s go!

Gratitudes

  1. Hot beverages, my hot water bottle and my grandfather’s old cardigan (do you see a theme here?!)

  2. Having a dishwasher in my apartment

  3. Naps - and having the time to take them

  4. Streaming movies and TV shows on my computer

  5. The ability to control the heat in my apartment

Celebrations

  1. Finishing (and putting away!) my laundry

  2. Getting a new blog post and a newsletter out recently

  3. 999 days of language lessons on Duolingo - I switched from Spanish to French to prepare for a trip to Paris in February

  4. Continuing to practice yoga twice a week

  5. Starting to get my finances in order for taxes and the new year in general

Desires

  1. A massage - well, actually 2 massages, since I am behind on my monthly massages

  2. Ticking more things off my content and cleaning calendar

  3. Maxie letting me sleep in the middle of the night - and not biting my face off

  4. More inquiries for wedding and counseling couples for 2023!

  5. A return to regular reading - both novels and business books (though I am rejoining my business book club in January!)
