Gratituesday 6.27.23 - Falling Apart
I’ve had thoughts lately about things falling apart. Sure, I may have a mild case of plantar fasciitis and my stomach has been bothering me and let’s not get into the hot flashes. But are things falling apart? No, not really.
Gratituesday 5.9.23 - Pushing Through the Negativity
It’s been a long few days, and I’m tired. I’ve been a little more negative than usual, so taking a moment to reflect on the positive has been a challenge. But I’m proud to say I’m pushing through the negativity. It did take a while, but I did find some positivity. Here are my weekly gratitudes, celebrations and desires.
Gratituesday 3.28.23 - Welcome Home!
So, I bought an apartment! Welcome home, you may say. However I purchased my co-op in the beginning of 2019 and after a lengthy renovation process, I moved in at the very end of that year. And now OVER two years later, or over FOUR years from purchase I finally got my Letter of Completion from the city yesterday. Welcome home, indeed!
Gratituesday 2.28.23 - There’s Plenty of Time
I know that the phrase, “there aren’t enough hours in the day” is commonly used. However, I’m here to tell you that there is plenty of time! On a daily basis, we need to work smarter and not harder. And if we lift our heads up from our screens, we can get a lot done.
Gratituesday 1.31.23 - Feeling Groovy
I have been very healthy over the course of my life, however I’ve had a few bobbles here and there. However when I reflected on my health today, I have to say that I’m feeling groovy!
Gratituesday 1.3.23 - It’s All About Service
Happy New Year, friends. For me 2023 is all about SERVICE. Yes, I chose a word for the year. I know there are varying opinions about resolutions and goals. I get it, and they are certainly not for everyone. But I find them helpful for me.
Gratituesday 12.27.22 - Ending the Year Soft
I cannot believe the year is almost over. I saw something on social media about rather than finishing the year HARD or with POWER that we should end the year SOFT. With relaxation and rest. With intention and ease. I’m not going to lie, that will be a challenge!
Gratituesday 12.13.22 - I Am Not Invincible
There’s that phrase that says that God will not give you more than you can handle. I think on it when I have lots on my plate or I am going through a series of challenges. Maybe I’m not invincible, but it usually motivates me to keep on going. However, curiosity got the better of me, and I did a little bit of research on the phrase.
Gratituesday 11.8.22 - Going, Going, Gone
Being sick sucks. I started feeling the ick last Thursday and it’s gone from a scratchy throat to congestion to a cough. And of course, I rested a bit and then I did what I usually do - I push through it. My body just couldn’t take my long day yesterday - and my voice started going, going, and it’s GONE today.
Desire Wednesday 10.19.22 - Being Consistent
I’ve had a bit of time lately to consider where I am in my business. I met with a mentor from SCORE to talk about marketing and business planning. He really said a whole bunch of stuff I already knew - including the suggestion of being consistent.
Gratituesday 10.11.22 - The Power of Gratitude
I am currently reading ‘Atlas of the Heart’ by Brené Brown. And if you are one of my current counseling couples, you certainly know that because I mention it in our sessions! Today I listened to the chapter on ‘Places We Go When Life is Good.’ Since it’s Gratituesday, I thought I’d share the power of GRATITUDE.
Gratituesday 10.4.22 - Atonement
The holiday of Yom Kippur or the Day of Atonement - starts tonight and it’s considered the most important holiday in the Jewish faith. I’m a more cultural, rather than practicing Jew. I don’t go to synagogue. however for Rosh Hashana and Yom Kippur I do abstain from working and fast as I aim for some “good Jew” points.
Gratituesday 8.23.22 - Reflect and Dream
I continue to do a lot of reading, and thankfully I have space in my life to reflect and dream. This makes a ripe environment to figure out what I want, but also take stock of all of the good things. Welcome back to my weekly lists. The comment section is always open to question, encourage and share your own lists. Off we go!
Gratituesday 8.9.22 - Miracle Mornings
For the past 2 weeks, I’ve created miracle mornings to start my day. In my book club we are reading Hal Elrod’s Miracle Morning. The basic gist of the book is that in order to make changes in your life, you need to work on personal development. Elrod began a daily practice of Silence, Affirmation, Visualization, Exercise, Reading and Scribing.
Gratituesday 7.26.22 - The 12-Hour Walk
Last Tuesday I did a 12-Hour Walk. Colin O’Brady just wrote a book called The 12-Hour Walk and was looking for some people to try it out. The idea is to turn your devices off, take a solo walk and be alone in your thoughts. Of course, all of this reflection is great for my weekly lists.
Gratituesday 7.12.22 - Nothing to Complain About
WhenI speak to my dad and asked how he is, he replies, “Nothing to complain about.” At first I found it a little odd, since it was new, but then I grew to love the intentionality of it all. We are a society of complainers. While I try to be positive and Zen, I can switch to ‘complaining’ as a default.
Gratituesday 6.21.22 - In the Know
I am a very curious person, and in my youth I needed to know EVERYTHING. As I’ve matured, I’ve realized that no, I really don’t. So now it’s a balance…deciding when it’s important to have and share information, and when it’s not.
Desire Wednesday 5.25.22 - Work Smarter, Not Harder
Over the last few months I’ve read a four new books with my business book club. Quite a few of them have encouraged positive change and action. Truly all of this is an attempt to work smarter, not harder.
Gratituesday 5.3.22 - My Body, My Choice
There have been so many advancements made over the last few years. But with the impending overturn of Roe v. Wade, it feels like we’re going backwards. I’ve seen a lot of rage and disappointment today. It’s important to counter that with a bit of good. Care to join me in my weekly lists?
Gratituesday 4.5.22 - Behind Schedule
I am not really sure where the day has gone. I felt behind most of the day, and had the feeling of playing catch up. It was important for me to reflect and create my weekly lists. A bit of gratitude, celebration and desires for the future. Care to join me? The comment section is always open to question, encourage or share your OWN list. Let’s go!
